What were my motivations for creating a Mandy Moore fan page? There were several in fact. First and foremost, I had previously developed a baseball webpage that I reference from time to time, which can be found here and I wanted to expand on that development by creating a different kind of webpage. A celebrity fan site has significant differences from a sports fan site if you look past the obvious content differences and I looked to develop the best possible page based on what I believe fans wanted to see. Another motivation that drove me towards Mandy Moore were her performances in Chasing Liberty and A Walk to Remember. Before watching either movie, I had heard great things about A Walk to Remember, but I wasn't expecting much out of Chasing Liberty. What I got instead was an enthusiastic performance from Mandy Moore and I could not deny that she was a great actress, which was surprising given her past as a successful pop-singer. Then I saw A Walk to Remember and I was convinced that I was seeing someone special and I eventually made the decision to create a webpage on her. The last reason came when I went to search for fan sites on Mandy Moore and didn't find very many. I believe an a person with this much talent needed more supporters.

The title of this webpage is somewhat different from what I see on other fan sites. The name is inspired by how Mandy Moore managed to bring her characters on screen to life in the most unexpected way. I found it was almost impossible not to like her and Mandy has this effect on people because of the energy she brings to her characters and her natural acting abilities. It was also inspired by how Mandy's character, Jamie Sullivan, in A Walk to Remember seemed to affect the lives of the audience in life-altering ways.

Originally, the site launched with the intention of bring the latest Mandy Moore news. It also offered a photo gallery and had its own forum. The forum lasted about a year as it was difficult to generate interest particularly due to my site being so new. Plain and simple, the forum did not meet my expectations and eventually it became more of a burden to keep it up due to spammers and bots that sign up with ridiculous names 3 times a day.

I have redesigned the page about 4 or 5 times since it opened, mostly trying to add new features and to improve the look and navigation. There have been subtractions too, such as music lyrics, which I used to offer. With every re-design, I hope to make the experience here easy to look around, while being appealing to the eye. I don't know how long this site will be up, but I hope long enough for Mandy Moore to finally gain widespread recognition for her multiple talents.
